79' Dodge Powerwagon Pickup Restoration Project- The Floor

This will be the first of many more blogs posts to come about Shane's project the past few months. More detailed chronicling will be happening in the future. To get everyone up to speed, Shane is working on helping do a restoration on his brother's 79' Dodge Powerwagon while his brother is deployed to Iraq. It's been fun helping out with my own creative ideas and truly seeing my husband's gifted skills first hand.

The project started with the removal of all the flooring, seats, etc. The seats had been switched out by the previous owner to newer ones. My husbands first task was to weld shut all the old holes and fix any rust spots on the floor.

Once the welding was completed he continued by using an assetone solution to wash and prepare the floor for a herculiner coating (this kit can be purchased from auto part stores).

The floor turned out great and Shane was very pleased with himself :) Additional insulation and a vinyl flooring will be installed later.

I look forward to sharing more blog posts about this truck restoration project as well as other projects to come! Feel free to contact us with any questions
